As a part of the Westarctica Civilian Corps' goal of recognizing citizens for exceptional acts or service that do not merit awarding of one of Westarctica's Orders of Chivalry, the Honored Westarctican Awards were created. Briefly called the "Honored Citizen Awards," at their inception, the name was quickly changed to avoid confusion with the Honored Citizen ribbon.

These awards can be issued to any Westarctican, even citizens who are not members of the Corps.
