Map of Mount Simsarian

Mount Simsarian is a large mountain projecting from the east side of the Michigan Plateau just south of the head of Gardiner Glacier. It is slightly southwest of Burlock Peak.

Discovery and name

The mountain was mapped by the USGS from surveys and United States Navy air photos collected during the years 1960-64. Mount Simsarian was named by US-ACAN in honor of James Simsarian who served as the Chief Division of International Scientific and Technical Affairs for the Department of State.
