Westarctica.com is the domain name of the realm of administrative autonomy, authority and control within the Internet operated by the government of the micronation of Westarctica. For eleven years prior to 2018 the name had been claimed by a domain parking service. A domain parking service is a method by which an individual or organization reserves one or more domain names solely for the purpose of preventing their use by others, forcing such others to either pay for the name to be released or causing them to wait until the service's claim on the name expires for non-payment. The domain name of Westarctica had been parked and was unusable as a domain until 3 March of 2018.
