==Discovery and name==&lt;br /&gt;
The nunatak was mapped from [[U.S. Navy]] air photos and from United States Geological Survey surveys collected during the years 1959–65. Bailey Nunatak was named by the Advisory Committee on [[Antarctic]] Names in honor of Andrew M. Bailey, meteorologist at [[Byrd Station]] during the 1963 research season.&lt;br /&gt;
