New page

The Bursey Icefalls (75°59′S 132°48′W) are icefalls draining the north slope of Mount Bursey in the Flood Range of Westarctica.

Discovery and name
The icefalls were mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and from U.S. Navy air photos collected during the years 1959–65. Bursey Icefalls were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in association with Mount Bursey, which was named in honor of Jacob Bursey, who served as a member of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–30) and dog-driver with the USAS party which sledged to the west end of the Flood Range in December 1940.
