==Discovery and name==&lt;br /&gt;
The bay was discovered and first charted from the [[USS Glacier|USS ''Glacier'']] (AGB-4) on 4 February 1962. Ledda Bay was named in honor of R.J. Ledda, who served as quartermaster aboard the ''Glacier'' during on the cruise in which the bay was discovered.&lt;br /&gt;
