==Discovery and name==&lt;br /&gt;
The mountain was mapped by the United States [[Antarctic]] Service and by United States Geological Survey from surveys and [[U.S. Navy]] air photos collected during the years 1959–65. Mount Zeigler was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in honor of Lieutenant Commander Luther L. Zeigler, [[U.S. Navy]], who served as a pilot on LC-130F Hercules aircraft flights during Operation Deep Freeze in 1968.&lt;br /&gt;
