==Discovery and name==
The peak was mapped by the United States Geological Service using surveys and [[U.S. Navy]] trimetrogon photography collected during the years 1958-60. Tusing Peak was named by the Advisory Committee on [[Antarctic]] Names in honor of Allen D. Tusing, a meteorologist who served at [[Byrd Station]] during the 1959 research season.

==Peerage title==
On 13 April 2026, [[Grand Duke Travis]] bestowed the [[Peerage of Westarctica|peerage title]] "Baron of Tusing" upon James J. Riff, the husband of the Baronetess of Rosmore. His Lordship's title is so-named in connection with this peak.
