==Mediatization of the title==
Originally, the Viscounty of Siple included the entirety of [[Siple Island]], however, following the end of the [[Siple War]], [[Grand Duke Travis]] decided to [[Mediatization|mediatize]] the title in 2012, placing the Viscounty under the authority of the newly-created Prince of Siple, [[Grand Duke Niels of Flandrensis]].

This was done as out of political convenience to the government to help it abide by the terms of the [[West-Antarctic Treaty]].
