The '''[[Westarctica Art Expo]]''' is an annual art showcase held that is open to any citizen of [[Westarctica]]. The expos are held online, with users digitally submitting a photograph of their work. The first of these expos was held in [[2018 Westarctica Art Expo|2018]].
The '''[[Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station]]''' is a United States scientific research station at the [[South Pole]], the southernmost place on the Earth. The station is located on the high plateau of [[Antarctica]] at an elevation of 2,835 meters (9,301 feet) above sea level and is administered by the Division of Polar Programs within the National Science Foundation under the United States Antarctic Program (USAP).


Submissions are accepted from any citizen of Westarctica. Restrictions on the mediums represented are generally very relaxed. As this is not a competition, there are no winners, per se. Instead exceptional work is recognized through one of three selection categories.


In 2018, the Citizen's Selection was chosen via a popular vote through the Citizens of Westarctica Facebook group. This honor was bestowed upon Esther Viola's piece titled "Portrait of Grand Duke Travis and an [[Adélie penguin|Adélie Penguin]]." This piece was used in a 2019 release of [[Stamps of Westarctica|Westarctican stamps]].
