The Minister of Education is a position on the Royal Council responsible for educational programs sponsored by Westarctica.
History
The Ministry of Education was created on 16 May 2019 after several months of discussion between Prime Minister Jordan Farmer and Grand Duke Travis. The Grand Duke had been looking for someone to assume responsibility for education programs ever since the creation of the Honorary Consul Training Program.
Ms. Jama Jenkins was invited to join the Government of Westarctica as Minister of Education on 16 May 2019 and accepted the appointment on the same day.
Elimination of Office
On 19 March 2020, after less than one year in existence, the Ministry of Education was deemed redundant and was eliminated by Grand Duke Travis. The function of the office was replaced by the Chancellor of the Westarctica Leadership Institute, an educational institution founded by the Grand Duke.
