Map of Fadden Peak showing the location of the Ivory Tower in Antarctica

The Ivory Tower (85°28′S 142°24′W) is a small peak rising to about 800 meters (2,600 ft). It is located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Fadden Peak, between the Harold Byrd Mountains and the Bender Mountains in Westarctica.

Discovery and name

The peak was visited by a United States Antarctic Research Program – Arizona State University geological party during the 1977–78 season. The Ivory Tower was named because of its composition of nearly all white marble.
