This image doesn't follow an important concept of the rules of blazonry: although it appears to be quartered, the quarters are all the same color (whatever, er, color that is). In order to be blazoned, either the quarters need to vary at least a little ("In the first and fourth Argent, in the second and third Or...", etc., or we have to come up with a name for the veeeeeeeerrrry thin black cross which appears on this shield (which I don't think was its intent). Was the original image created with no colors at all, other than olive, light olive, gray, and white (only one of which even has a color in blazonry)? - The Duke of Sherman created the image in 2005 and I doubt he was consulting the rules of blazonry when he did so. The image is the same one the Duke originally created, so the colors have not been modified in any way. The early arms created in and for Westarctica and its territories rarely followed any defined rules or procedure. If the arms were to be modified / updated to conform to our existing rules, it would have to go through the Duke of Sherman (who would probably not find this discussion terribly interesting).
