Since the formation of Westarctica, it has been a stated goal of the government to carry the flag to [[Antarctica]] as a demonstration to the world and other [[micronation]]s that Westarctica is not merely a hobby project created to pass the time or a simulated nation. On 23 November 2023, the flag of Westarctica was unfurled on the [[Antarctic Peninsula]] by anthropologist Ashley Meredith and her husband after having been similarly photographed with a colony of [[Adélie penguin]]s on D'Hainaut Island three days prior.
The arrival of the flag on the continent of Antarctica is considered a major event in the history of [[Westarctica]] and a sign of the nation's commitment to conducting operations in the southern polar region.
