Global Campaign
Global Campaigns are a designation given to specific activism efforts organized by Westarctica's government. These are primarily focused on environmental and conservation efforts, but the scope is not necessarily limited to those areas. The designation was created in 2018, as a way of streamlining aspects of citizen involvement and recognition, in the nation.
Early History
Organized activism campaigns in Westarctica predate the creation of the Global Campaign label. The most notable of these is the ongoing "War on Whaling," which is an awareness and letter-writing campaign against the illegal Japanese whaling that takes place in the Southern Ocean Sanctuary, a designated whale sanctuary in the waters surrounding Antarctica.
Creation of the Global Campaign designation
In early 2018 some aspects of citizen activity and recognition were restructured, as part of the Westarctica Civilian Corps' creation. One of these changes was the creation of the Global Campaign label, to allow members to easily distinguish activities that were approved for credit towards the Global Campaign Service ribbon, or additional levels of the award.
