Hammond Glacier is a glacier located on the northeast side of the Haines Mountains, flowing northwest for about 40 nautical miles (70 km) to Sulzberger Ice Shelf in the Ford Ranges of Westarctica.

Discovery and name

The glacier was discovered in 1934 by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, and named by Richard E. Byrd for John Hays Hammond, an American mining engineer and philanthropist.

Peerage title

On 1 December 2023, Dr. Brady McNutly was granted the peerage title Duke of Hammond in recognition of his longstanding support of Westarctica. He had originally been granted the title Baron of Merrick in 2017.
