The Westarctican '''Knighting Sword''' is a ceremonial hand-and-a-half sword and scabbard intended to be used by the Grand Duke during knighting ceremonies. The overall length of the sword is 38", with a double-edged fullered blade measuring just over 30" in length and somewhat under 2" in width at its base.  The quillon is 6.5" wide, and the wooden grip is 5.5" long.  The pommel of the sword is composed of an egg-shaped block of acrylic-polyester synthetic material carved for the sword by the [[Count of Dendtler]] in 2020 to replace the original chrome-plated brass sphere which was damaged prior to delivery.  The Count also engraved the blade of the sword with the words "AVENDTIS FORTVNA IVVAT", the Latin equivalent of the national motto "fortune favors the bold".
