The Seven Seas of Rhye is a major body of water in the Colony of Calsahara. It forms the western border of Calsahara and the United States. The Seas are comprised of a series of shallow pools of heavily alkaline water, although there are sometimes more or less than seven actual seas, the number changes so frequently that it's virtually impossible to keep an accurate count.
The San Joaquin kit fox is the smallest member of the dog family in North America and one of several endangered species that lives within the borders of the Colony of Calsahara. In 1990, its population was estimated to be 7,000. This subspecies is still endangered, after nearly 50 years of being on the Endangered Species List. Today, much of the kit fox's remaining habitat is extremely fragmented, movement corridors are degraded or blocked, and only a few large areas of native grasslands remain on the San Joaquin Valley's perimeter in the Carrizo Plain.

Due to the heavily alkaline nature of the water in the Seven Seas of Rhye, the only life found there are brine shrimp or fairy shrimp. These are most prevalent during the early spring when the Seas are full of fresh rain water and the shrimp eggs from the previous season suddenly spring to life. This type of brine shrimp is popularly known as "Sea Monkeys."

The name of the Seven Seas of Rhye was chosen by Grand Duke Travis in honor of the song "Seven Seas of Rhye" by the British rock band Queen. It was written by Freddie Mercury, a personal hero of the Grand Duke.
