The Commissioner of Economic Development was a Royal Council post that deals with trade and commerce for Westarctica.
The office never conducted any business and existed only on paper until it was eliminated in November 2024.
History
Previously, economic affairs were handled by various ministries, including the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of the Treasury.
In 2021, after the Ministry of Commerce was vacated, the Foreign Minister, the Baron of Dorrel approached Grand Duke Travis about creating an office devoted to manufacturing and selling goods on behalf of the country.
On 2 November 2021, David Eckhard was appointed as Commissioner of Economic Development.
On 26 November 2024, after three years of inactivity, the commission was dissolved by Grand Duke Travis.
