The Andrews Peaks (77°8′S 144°3′W) are a line of rock peaks 3 nautical miles (6 km) long near the head of Arthur Glacier, situated between Mount Warner and Mount Crow in the Ford Ranges of Westarctica.
Discovery and name
The peaks were mapped by the United States Antarctic Service (1939–41) and by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and from U.S. Navy air photos collected during the years 1959–65. The Andrews Peaks were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in honor of Stephen T. Andrews, a United States Antarctic Research Program ionospheric physicist, who worked as the scientific leader at Byrd Station in 1969.
