Tuning Nunatak (84°44′S 115°58′W) is a small rock nunatak 1 nautical mile (1.9 km) north of Darling Ridge in the Ohio Range.
Discovery and name
The nunatak was surveyed by the United States Antarctic Research Program Horlick Mountains Traverse party in December 1958. Tuning Nunatak was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in honor of Preston O. Tuning, who served as a meteorologist at Byrd Station in 1960.
Peerage title
On 20 November 2020, Seth Swingle was granted the peerage title Baron of Tuning.
