In 2008, prior to reclaiming the throne of [[Westarctica]], and prior to becoming the King of [[Colony of Calsahara|Calsahara]], [[Grand Duke Travis]] was asked by President Baugh to serve Molossia as Governor of Desert Homestead. This request was made due to the Grand Duke's close proximity to Desert Homestead (Los Angeles is only a three hour drive away) as well as the President's desire to see Travis return to the world of [[Micronations|micronations]].

The Westarctican Colony of Calsahara is a dependent colony of Westarctica located entirely within the U.S. state of California near the unincorporated community of California Valley on the Carrizio Plain. Calsahara was founded by Travis McHenry on 24 November 2009, and existed as an independent sovereign state until it was conquered without resistance during the Invasion of Calsahara by the Westarctican Royal Guards on 29 October 2017. All laws of Calsahara were overturned and replaced with the Article of Eternal Union, which established Grand Duke Travis as Overlord of Calsahara and made the territory an eternal colony of Westarctica.
