His Lordship
The Baron of Dorrel
Knight Grand Commander of the Snowflake

Foreign Minister
In Office February 2021 - Present
Preceded by Duke of Goldstream

Background

From 1990 - 2005, he designed and manufactured Ferrari car kits for the Pontiac Fiero and holds numerous patents related to cycle designs. in 2015, the Baron acquired the rights to the Messerschmitt trade name and now manufactures speciality sport cycles under the Messerschmitt brand.

Diplomatic career

The Baron became a citizen of Westarctica in 2018 and shortly after was appointed as Honorary Consul of Westarctica to Spain as a diplomat in the Honorary Consular Corps. In this role, he worked closely with the Foreign Minister, the Duke of Goldstream. Despite living in southern Spain, the Baron is actually German and speaks English, Spanish, and German fluently. This made him an ideal choice for the consular role.

In November 2018, he attended the Chiefs of Mission Meeting in Berlin, Germany along with other members of the Diplomatic Corps. During this meeting, he received the peerage title Baron of Dorrel as well as a knighthood in the Order of the Snowflake. His title was named for Dorrel Rock.

The Baron's work as a consul was exemplary and he opened the first physical consulate building on Westarctica's behalf in Nerja, Spain. This event was covered extensively by the local Spanish and English press. As a result of his efforts, the Baron was raised to the rank of Consul-General in 2019. He was unofficially appointed to the temporary role of Deputy Foreign Minister in 2020 by Grand Duke Travis, although he never exercised the authority of that role.

Foreign Minister

On 11 February 2021, the Duke of Goldstream resigned from the position of Foreign Minister and the Baron of Dorrel was immediately appointed Acting Foreign Minister. This appointment was quickly confirmed by the Prime Minister and was made permanent the following day.
