Bucher Rim (76°19′S 112°9′W) is a rocky eminence on the southern portion of the rim of the extinct volcano Mount Takahe, in eastern Westarctica.
Discovery and name
The rim was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and from U.S. Navy tricamera aerial photos during the years 1959–66. Bucher Rim was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in honor of Peter Bucher of the University of Bern, Switzerland, United States Antarctic Research Program glaciologist who worked at Byrd Station during the 1969–70 research season.
