His Grace, the Duke of Le Vaux, Javier Gold Ferrari, has been a hereditary peer in the Peerage of Westarctica since 2005. A colorful and engaging character, Gold Ferrari has gained an international reputation for collecting degrees, orders of chivalry, and titles.
Biography
A resident of Peru, Gold Ferrari was born Javier Otto Gold in 1964. His undergraduate education was in Economic Policy at the National University of Saint Mark, the oldest public university in South America. He then went on to study Enterprise Management at the SENATI training institute in Peru.
Involvement with Westarctica
The Duke first approached Grand Duke Travis with an inquiry about joining Westarctica's noble peerage, then known as The Baronage, on 13 March 2005. He sent his resume and a letter of introduction as well as a promise to make a sizeable donation to the national treasury. After a few weeks of corresponding about ideas for Westarctica's future, Grand Duke Travis decided to grant Gold Ferrari the title Duke of Le Vaux. His title was named for Le Vaux Peak on Mount Cumming.
Although he has never been active as a citizen of Westarctica, he bears the honorific "Old Guard" due to his early support of the nation.
Status as a "Title Collector"
In the early 2000s, Gold Ferrari began collecting noble titles, academic degrees, and membership in chivalric orders. Nearly all of these were acquired from so-called "diploma mills," institutions of dubious origin that require no proof of academic achievement, but grant degrees based upon the student's life experience. He has been granted numerous PhDs through this method.
Although the exact number of his honors is unknown, he is believed to have accumulated hundreds of titles and degrees over the past 20 years. The true number is possibly greater than 1,000 different honors, making the Duke the most-awarded person in human history.
Excommunication from "Holy Russia"
In 2015, Gold Ferrari was exiled from the unrecognized quasi-state known as Nova Church of Holy Russia, which had bestowed upon him at least 12 titles, degrees, and diplomatic appointments. These various titles were declared null and void by the Emperor of Holy Russia due to a loss of confidence and trust in Gold Ferrari. The Emperor's 12 August 2015 decree stated:
"We believe that long stay in poverty and hopelessness of the Dr. Javier Otto Gorge (Jorge) Gold Ferrari, and also his unknown arrogance, have led to loss of adequate perception of reality. Our big friend and brother who has applied significant efforts to blossoming and well-being Russian Imperial House of Rurikovich and institutes of Holy Russia, recently has declared himself Emperor of many ancient countries and peoples, and also, probably, the whole continents."
