The Royal Officer Corps was a proposed military organization in Westarctica. Although plans were made for the creation of the unit, it was never actually formed as a fighting force. In 2005, Grand Duke Travis was urged to create a military unit by numerous members of the Grand Ducal Cabinet and the Baronage, including the Baron of Havola, who pleaded with the Grand Duke that there was an urgent need for a functioning military (even if it was only a small one). The creation of the Minister of Defense was phase one of the establishment of Westarctica's military, and the office was given to Wolf Tulier, a citizen of Westarctica since 2003.

It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959–66, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after Leo E. Dorrel, U.S. Navy, a hospital corpsman with the Byrd Station winter party, 1966. As Minister of Defense, Wolf Tulier also served as the head of the Royal Officer Corps, utilizing his experience as a soldier in the U.S. Army to guide his leadership of the Corps. Shortly following the creation of the office, Wolf appointed the former Baronet of Brandenberger, Troy Thompson, as Deputy Minister of Defense to assist him in getting Westarctica’s military into marching order. Although the Ministry of Defense planned to host training camps for prospective members, the Royal Officer Corps gradually became a footnote in Westarctica's history. In 2017, their function was replaced by the Westarctican Royal Guards.

Dorrel Rock - Mt. Murphy.jpg

Dorrel Rock is a rock outcrop 11 nautical miles (20 km) southwest of the summit of Mount Murphy, protruding through the ice near the head of Pope Glacier, on the Walgreen Coast in Westarctica. On 2 November 2018, Westarctica's Honorary Consul to Spain, Dr. Joachim Michael Adlfinger, was granted the Peerage title of Baron of Dorrel in recognition of his successful opening of Westarctica's consulate office in southern Spain.
