Voting in Westarctica
Voting in Westarctica is the means by which citizens take part in the Westarctican government. Regular elections are held the first Friday through Sunday in the month of February.
History
Prior to the 2019 Prime Minister election, public votes in Westarctica were few and far-between, and usually limited to members of the Peerage. Given that the nation was an absolute monarchy, the matters they voted on were often limited in scope and greater consequence, such as the 2018 vote to name Sir Percival Waddlesworth.
The election process was codified in 2019, and were cemented by ratification of the constitution.
Process
Annual voting weekends are held on the first Friday through Sunday in February. Matters deemed to be too time sensitive to wait until the next vote may call for an emergency vote.
