MicroCon 2025 was a micronational event which occurred during the last week of June in 2025 in Montreal, Canada. It was the sixth event to occur under the MicroCon banner and was held during the 10th Anniversary of the MicroCon conferences.

It was hosted by the Aerican Empire.

As Montreal is a bilingual city (French and English), this was the first completely bilingual MicroCon event.

The event venue was the Singapore Room at Hôtel Ruby Foo's, a four-star hotel located the heart of Montreal.

Background

During MicroCon 2023's gala ball, the host and location for MicroCon 2025 was announced. It was due to be the first MicroCon that was hosted by three micronations.

The three proposed hosts, all based in Montreal, were:

During the initial the announcement at MicroCon 2023, Emperor Eric of the Aerican Empire and Princess Cloe of Sancratosia gave a brief presentation extolling the virtues of Montreal. A few weeks later, at MicroCon EU 2023, Dominic Desaintes-Bellemare from Saint-Castin shared more details about the planning committee's thoughts on the event including the proposed venue and dates.

In mid-June 2025, just a week before the event was scheduled to commence, the three hosts had a falling out leading the Principality of Sancratosia and the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin to withdraw from the planning committee. The Aerican Empire then assumed full hosting duties.

Pre-conference activities

On the evening of Thursday, June 26th, a casual welcome reception was held in the Seville Room for the newly-arrived delegations. Food and drinks were served while attendees mingled and introduced themselves to one another.

The Micronational Trivia Game, expertly hosted by Commodore Jonathan Miller of Molossia, began at eight o'clock. The entire room was divided into teams who competed against each other for bragging rights and for medals in the Nemean Games (trivia having been included as a part of the Nemean Games starting with MicroCon 2023). Gold Medals were awarded to the four nations of the Desert Penguins (Westarctica, Molossia, Ironland, and Aethodia), the winning team which took first place by a shocking margin of nearly 100 points.

The Nemean Games

The following afternoon, on Friday, June 27th, attendees joined together in a nearby park to test their athletic ability in fierce competition in the Nemean Games, hosted by Matthew Salzer of Ladonia. Participants included Molossia, North Barchant, West Who, Karina-Ruthenia, the Principality of Aigues-Mortes, and the Quackers Kingdom.

For the first time, Australian Break Dancing was included as a competitive sport.

Diplomatic Reception

On Friday evening, the Aerican Empire hosted a formal diplomatic reception in the Hong Kong room. Attendees were invited to mingle and get to know one another while food and drinks were served.

During the reception, Westarctica's delegation of 11 people took a moment to hold a private awards ceremony for their members. Grand Duke Travis bestowed knighthoods in Westarctica's Orders of Chivalry upon the delegates and highlighted some of the special work they have done over the previous year. His Royal Highness also granted military promotions to the members of the Westarctican Royal Guards and appointed two members into his Royal Household.

Main conference event

On Saturday, 28 June, the main MicroCon conference began with registration at 8:00am in the Singapore Room. Each delegation set up a table display to show off the artifacts and ephemera associated with their micronation. The entire perimeter of the room was filled with displays and additional tables had to be added to accommodate all the nations.

Attendees were treated to a continental breakfast buffet as part of the conference with coffee breaks in between each presentation. Following the individual presentations, Jordan Farmer moderated a one hour panel discussion titled 10 Years of MicroCon: The Show Must Go Wrong featuring four previous MicroCon hosts discussing the challenges and joys of hosting a MicroCon.

The panelists were:
