Featured article

The Coins of Westarctica are a collection of commemorative coins minted by the Central Bank of Westarctica on behalf of the micronation of Westarctica. Starting in 2005, Westarctica minted 31 unique coins released in 14 different series, each commemorating a different element of Westarctican culture, history, or geography. The creation of coins by the Central Bank ceased in 2013.

In late 2004, Jorge stumbled upon the official Westarctica website. He was intrigued by the fledgling nation and applied for citizenship. As part of his citizenship request, he shared his ideas for minting coins with Grand Duke Travis who happened to be looking for someone to lead a numismatic project to create coins on behalf of Westarctica. Jorge was promptly appointed to the post of Minister of the Treasury and given full authority to mint coins bearing Westarctica's name and symbols. The Central Bank of Westarctica was created with Jorge as it's head officer.

June - The Consul-General restructures the regions of the Achaean Territory and divides the land into two Grand Duchies. George Morin is appointed Grand Duke of Ellsworth and the Grand Duchy of Byrd is reserved for the future heir to the throne. (2002)

04 June - Following the removal of Grand Duke Jon-Lawrence from power, Grand Duke Travis is again proclaimed the ruler of Westarctica and the Transitional Government is established. (2010)
06 June - The Consul-General issues a Statement of Faith, publicly proclaiming his devotion to the Holy Trinity. (2004)
10 June - The Consul-General dissolves the Chancellery and proclaims the establishment of an interim government to guide the transition of the Achaean Territory of Antarctica into the Grand Duchy of Westarctica. (2004)
13 June - Grand Duke Travis has an epiphany of a cross with a crown around it and is inspired to design a new flag, he also pledges to make Westarctica a Christian nation. (2004)

The Principality of Aigues-Mortes is a micronation created to promote and support local initiatives of the eponymous city, located in Southern France, 23km east of Montpellier. The Principality of Aigues-Mortes engages in relations with other micronations, having signed treaties with many countries. In February 2018, Chancellor Olivier de Constance was hosted for a diplomatic visit at the Grand Ducal Apartments in Los Angeles, California by Grand Duke Travis and Prince-Consort Dinny where he was invested as a Knight Commander in the Order of the Snowflake.
