- January - Burke Island was discovered using aerial photographs taken by U.S. Navy Squadron VX-6. (1960)
- 09 January - Candidates for the 2019 Prime Minister election are announced. (2019)
- 12 January - The Consul-General is deployed to the Persian Gulf in anticipation of war with Iraq. (2003)
- 14 January - Grand Duke Travis abdicated the throne of Westarctica and transferred the title, office, and all responsibilities as ruler to the Duke of Ravencroft, who had previously served as Minister of Information. The Duke was subsequently crowned as Grand Duke Philip of Westarctica. (2006)
- 14 January - Westarctica formally annexes the Balleny Islands (map pictured) from New Zealand. (2005)
- 14 January - The Westarctica Conservation Scholarship is renamed Count of Krigsvold Fellowship. (2025)
- 15 January - The Duke of Goldstream passes away. (2023)
- 17 January - Grand Duke Travis hosts Carolyn Yagjian for a state visit in Los Angeles. (2019)
- 18 January - Bodies of ancient crustaceans are found beneath subglacial Lake Mercer. (2019)
- 24 January - The Royal Blockchain Authority is established to create a Westarctican cryptocurrency. (2018)
- 27 January - Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen becomes the first person to sight land in Antarctica. (1820)
- 28 January - The Radlinski Earldom is established in the Whitmore Mountains and granted to Jeanne Morin, sister of the Duke of Ellsworth. (2002)
- 28 January - The Westarctican College of Arms is created. (2020)
- 10 February - The Grand Duke's first child, and heir to the throne, Prince Ashton Roman, is born to the Consular-Consort. (2004)
- 11 February - Duke Jordan becomes the first popularly elected Prime Minister of Westarctica. (2019)
- 12 February - Grand Duke Travis receives a short note from the Grand Duke of Luxembourg thanking him for a letter of condolence on the passing of Grand Duchess Charlotte. (2005)

- 13 February - The Grand Ducal Cabinet and the Baronage undergo a major reorganization resulting in changes to certain titles of nobility. (2005)
- 13 February - Jessica Barton is appointed Commissioner of the Westarctica Civilian Corps. (2019)
- 15 February - The Constitution of Westarctica is passed into law. (2020)
- 17 February - Grand Duke Travis sends a letter of support to the King of Nepal in response to his efforts to eliminate the Maoist insurgents from Nepal. King Gyanendra is made an honorary Knight in the Noble Order of Westarctica. (2005)
- 20 February - The Baron of Hull Bay is elected the third Prime Minister of Westarctica. (2023)
- 21 February - The 1st Viscount of Reynolds, Justin Rich, is disbarred from the Baronage due to his lack of ability. (2005)
- 21 February - The Senate of Westarctica selects Alex "Sasha" Radionov as Senate Leader. (2023)
- 24 February - Grand Duke Travis hosted a delegation from the Royal Republic of Ladonia for a diplomatic visit in the Colony of Calsahara. (2018)
- 27 February - Rear Admiral Byrd discovers Thurston Island. (1940)
- 27 February - The 20 ice mark note is released by the Central Bank of Westarctica. (2019)
- 27 February - The Principality of Kolios becomes a protectorate of Westarctica. (2022)
- March - COLORS Magazine, in the first press mention of Westarctica, reports that Westarctica’s claim to Antarctic land is as valid as any nation in the Antarctic Treaty (2005).
- 01 March - The Central Bank of Westarctica is established by Jorge Fernandez Vidal, the first Minister of the Treasury, and begins minting coins for Westarctica. (2005)
- 02 March - The Honorary Consular Corps (pictured) is created to foster international diplomatic representation for Westarctica. (2016)
- 03 March - The Westarctica.com domain name is reclaimed by the Grand Duke eleven years after it was captured by a domain parking service. (2018)
- 04 March - Viscount Boschert passes away. He is the first peer of Westarctica to die. (2022)
- 09 March - Westarctica declares war on illegal Japanese whaling in Antarctic waters. (2016)
- 09 March - A new Minister of Citizenship & Immigration is appointed for the first time since 2006. (2018)
- 11 March - The Orders of Calsahara are absorbed into the Orders of Westarctica. (2021)

- 14 March - The Count of Discovery Ridge is appointed Minister of Transportation. (2021)
- 15 March - Viceroys are appointed to rule the colonies of Westarctica. (2024)
- 15 March - Sir Brendan of Woodwin is appointed Deputy Prime Minister. (2021)
- 16 March - A delegation from Westarctica attends a State Visit with Reunion (2023)
- 17 March - The United States declared war on Iraq with the support of Britain, Spain, and Bulgaria. The Consul-General is on a U.S. Navy warship 65 miles off the coast of Iraq. The Achaean Territory is officially neutral, but supports the war. (2003).
- 18 March - Westarctica's Minister of Conservation launches the Conservation Scholarship. (2020)
- 22 March - The Baron of Bastanchury is appointed Minister to the Ministry of Information. (2018)
- 26 March - The Battle Hymn of the Achaean Civil Defense Force is written. (2002)
